Busch Gardens Williamsburg: We’re excited to have you here! Can you tell us a bit about the show?

Light Balance: Sure! The performance you’ll see at Busch Gardens started off as a minute and a half routine for the semifinals on America’s Got Talent, but we’ve extended it to about 15 minutes for this show. This show has a lot of monster elements to make it both mysterious and fun as well as a lot of comedic elements. We have a lot of surprises up our sleeves. We hope everyone likes it!

BGW: That sounds awesome! How does a show come about? What is the planning like?

LB: It takes around a month to prepare a show. Every team member is an integral part of developing a routine. The first step is a creative meeting where choreographers, costume designers, and founders discuss the new concept, draw mock-ups, and exchange movie and music news. It is the funniest part of the process! It is always full of jokes and crazy ideas. Some of them become part of new shows. Then we work on the music element and the choreography, combining it with visual effects while our costume designers and engineers are producing new costumes and props. The last step is programming light cues to every second of the music tracks. We do dress rehearsals over many days in order to improve every part of a new routine to make it impeccable.

BGW: What’s it like to be a performer in Light Balance?

LB: It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s fun too. We put in a lot of hours and like to relax and explore the place we’re visiting during our off time. Like today we’ll be riding roller coasters after we’re done rehearsing! One of the best parts of this experience is all the travel we get to do. It is great to be back at Busch Gardens Williamsburg again! We are so happy to perform here, and that's why we prepared a new special show for our fans. We look forward to showing it on the Busch Gardens stage and share our passion with the audience. For every artist the most important thing is the audience feedback. Seeing happiness in the eyes of children, hearing applause, and feeling their emotions gives us the drive to evolve our art and share it.
