2022 Coaster Anniversaries Celebration
It’s a big year for Busch Gardens Williamsburg as five of our nine world class coasters celebrate milestone anniversaries! We thought what better way to celebrate than with a 10-day long party, May 19 – 30, where we honor Alpengeist, Griffon, Verbolten, InvadR, and the ALL-NEW Pantheon. You’re officially invited to join us as we kick off the summer with one epic coaster celebration where you can enjoy endless rides on your favorite coasters, a park-wide scavenger hunt, specialty Merchandise and Culinary offerings and more.
Event Dates
Pantheon™, the world’s fastest multi-launch roller coaster, made its grand debut March 25, 2022 and harnesses the speed and strength of five of the greatest Roman Gods. This record-breaking coaster stands 180 feet tall with a top speed of 73 mph, and features a 95° drop, 4 launches, 5 air-time hills and 2 inversions.
When it opened in 1997, Alpengeist shattered world records as one of the tallest & fastest inverted roller coasters in the world. This legendary ghost of the Alps plummets through the slopes from a height of 195 feet and hurtles riders through 6 staggering inversions at speeds up to 67 miles per hours. Grab your skis, it’s time to hit the slopes!
The first of its kind, Griffon opened in 2007 featuring a 90 degree drop plummeting straight down to earth from a height of 205 feet at a staggering 75 miles per hour. With the longest ride time of 3 minutes, soar on the wings of this mythical creature and experience the heart-pounding thrills of this B&M masterpiece.
Since 2012, Verbolten, seated on the edge of the Black Forest in Oktoberfest village, has kept riders on the edge of their seats with its mystifying thrills. Featuring first-of-its-kind elements, this indoor/outdoor multi-launch coaster is unlike anything you have ever experienced. Do you dare to brave the Black Forest?
Invading the scene in 2017, InvadR dons a whopping 9 airtime hills and a 74-foot plunge that reaches speeds of almost 50 miles per hour. This high thrill coaster is a force to be reckoned with as you race through its wooden track leaving even the greatest thrill seekers amazed and coming back for more.

Test your seeking skills as you use clues to search high and low for the Ride The Five anniversary flags. Once you’ve found them all, head to the Emporium in England or Der Marktplatz in Oktoberfest to claim a fun surprise.
