Annual Pass Holder FAQ

As we transition to this new Membership Program, Pass holders have two options:

  1. Do nothing. Keep your active Annual Pass with your current benefits.
  2. Move to Membership: Pick a new plan and enjoy more benefits and access - plus, Christmas Town™.

I currently have an active Pass. Do I have to convert to the new Membership Program?

As we transition to this new Membership Program, current Pass holders have two options. You can do nothing and keep your Pass with your current benefits or move to the new Membership Program and start enjoying more benefits and park access, plus Christmas Town.

I’ve been a Pass holder for years and pay a low monthly rate, will that low rate roll over if I join the Membership Program?

No. The Annual Pass program and new Membership Plans are separate programs.

How long can I keep my current pass?

You can choose to upgrade to a new Membership plan now or wait and join once your Annual Pass expires. As for right now, there is no expiration date for EZpay current passes.

Can I get into the park with my current Pass if I don’t convert to the new Membership Program?

Yes. As long as it’s active, your Pass is still good for admission to the park or parks designated.

If I remain as a Pass holder, will I get admission to Christmas Town?

No. The 1-Park, 2-Park and Platinum Passes do not include Christmas Town admission. To visit Christmas Town, you can join the Membership Program or purchase separate admission to the event when available.

Why is Busch Gardens Williamsburg changing the Pass program?

Our consumers have told us they want more value and simpler choices. That’s what prompted us to create our new Membership Program, with more admission perks and refined benefits to allow guests to take full advantage of the parks’ amenities, including all of our seasonal events.

What is the difference between an Annual Pass holder and a Member?

Pass holders are guests with a 1-Park, 2-Park or Platinum Pass. These passes are no longer available for purchase. Members are guests who have joined our new Membership Program at either the Basic, Unlimited or Premier level.

What if I want a Membership to only Busch Gardens or Water Country USA, not both?

We do not offer single-park Memberships. All Membership Plans include Busch Gardens and all of its seasonal events, plus Water Country USA. You are free to attend whichever parks or events you wish.

If I choose to keep my Annual Pass, what benefits will I receive?

You will continue to receive the benefits that are currently associated with your Pass including admission to the designated park or parks, free parking, in-park discounts and discounted tickets. Free guest tickets, Sneak Peek Days and Member-only events are available only through the new Membership Program.

Why should I switch to the Basic Membership with blockout dates and discounted parking when my current Pass allows me access every day and free parking?

The choice is yours, based on what is most valuable to you. If unlimited admission and free parking are important to you, the Unlimited Membership Plan is your best bet.

If I decide to convert to the Membership Program, what benefits will I receive?

Membership benefits vary depending on which plan you choose. All three Membership Plans will allow you to experience Busch Gardens Williamsburg, including Christmas Town, and Water Country USA, as well as access to Member-only events and Sneak Peek Days. Parking benefits and guest tickets vary based on the plan. All Plans also include a 10 percent discount on shopping and dining purchases at the parks. The Pass holder program included free parking with each level. Is free parking included with all of the new Membership Plans?

A parking benefit is included with every new Plan. Basic Membership includes 50% off parking. Unlimited Membership includes free General Parking and Premier Membership includes free Preferred Parking (guaranteed before noon at the Virginia parks; based on availability after 12 p.m.).

If I decide to keep my Pass, will I still receive free guest tickets?

No. Free guest tickets are only available with certain plans under the Membership Program. You may continue to purchase deeply discounted tickets for family and friends.

If I upgrade to the new Membership will I forfeit benefits?

Membership gives you more access to park benefits like free guest tickets, Member-only events and access to both parks and Christmas Town. By upgrading to the new program, you will receive benefits associated with that plan.

Do I get a discount on Preferred Parking with the new Membership plan?

Members with a Premier Membership get free Preferred Parking when available at the Virginia parks. Members on the Basic and Unlimited plans may purchase Preferred Parking at a discount, as long as it’s available.

If I decide to keep my Pass, will I still receive free parking?

You will continue to get free parking with your 1-Park or 2-Park Pass. Platinum Pass holders will get free preferred parking (guaranteed before noon at the Virginia parks; based on availability after 12 p.m.).

Why does the Basic Membership have blockout dates?

Each Membership Plan offers varying benefits. The Basic Membership Plan was designed for guests who are flexible and looking for maximum savings.

What are the Basic Membership blockout dates?
If I purchase a Basic Membership and want to visit the park on a blockout date, do I have to purchase a full-priced admission ticket?

We have a special discounted rate for Basic Members to visit on blockout dates. You can purchase a $25 ticket on the day of your visit.

Do I get free guest tickets with the Membership Program?

Members on the Unlimited Plan receive two free guest tickets per year and those with a Premier Membership receive three each year.  The Member must be with the guest to receive the tickets and they can be used at either Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Water Country USA.  Members will have access to one free ticket based on the schedule below:

 

Premier Plan Free Guest Tickets: Mar. 24 - May 31, June 1 - Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 - Jan 1   // Unlimited Plan: Mar. 24 - July 31 and Aug.1 - Jan 1

Free tickets are not issued online. They are only redeemable at the self-service kiosk located at the park (Zone B). To redeem, Members will:

If I remain as a Pass holder, will I get admission to Christmas Town?

No. The 1-Park, 2-Park and Platinum Passes do not include Christmas Town admission. We are eliminating the Christmas Town Pass that was previously available to Pass holders. To visit Christmas Town, you can join the Membership Program or purchase separate admission to the event when available.

How much are the discounted guest tickets with Annual Passes?

1-Park and 2-Park Pass holders get a $35 discount and Platinum Pass holders save $40 on single-day guest tickets through October 28, 2018.

How much are the discounted guest tickets with the new Membership Plans?

Basic and Unlimited Members get a $35 discount and Premier Members save $40 on single-day guest tickets through October 28, 2018.

How do I convert to the new Membership Program?

You can visit the parks’ ticket windows on any regular operating day to make the change or you can call (757) 229-4386 to enroll by phone.  This transaction is not available online and must be handled in person or by telephone.

If I currently have an active Pass on the EZpay monthly payment plan, can I cancel without penalty and become a Member?

Yes.  On your next visit, simply stop by any park ticket window or call our customer service line at (757) 229-4386 to enroll by phone.  

Where can I switch my Pass to Membership while I’m at the park?

You can visit any guest ticket window at the front entrance or at Guest Relations. 

I have a 2018 Fun Card and would like to join the Membership Program. Do I have to buy a new Membership at full price? Can the Fun Card price be applied to the Membership?

No, you will simply pay the difference between the prorated Fun Card and the Membership Plan of choice.  We will prorate the difference based on how long you have had your Fun Card.

What is EZpay?

EZpay is an interest-free monthly payment program designed to make it easier for anyone to become a Member at our parks.

Do I have to get on the EZpay monthly payment plan?

You are not required to purchase your Membership on EZpay, however EZpay provides convenience for as long as your Membership is active.  If you prefer, you may pay for your Membership in annual installments, renewable at that current year’s rate. 

Once I join the Membership Program will the monthly rate stay the same, or will it go up at some point?

Your monthly rate will not increase during your initial 12-month commitment. After that, the fee may go up, depending on the current rates for your selected plan. You have the right to cancel at any time after your initial 12-month commitment period.

I paid full price for my pass in 2017. Can I apply the balance of my remaining months if I join the Membership Program?

Yes. On your next visit, simply stop by any park ticket window to enroll.

 

  • Pass holders who purchased their pass with a one-time payment at full price prior to Oct. 28, 2017 will be credited for the remaining months before their pass expires. For example, if they paid full price for a Pass in July 2017, they will be credited for the remaining unused months of March, April, May and June 2018.

  • Pass holders who purchased their pass with a one-time payment at full price after Oct. 28, 2017 will be credited the entire value of their pass toward the purchase of a new Membership

Can I convert my existing pass to a new Membership Plan?

Please reference the scenarios below that outline our Annual Pass holder refund policy when converting to the new Membership Program.

  • Pass holders currently on EZpay, and who are up-to-date with their monthly payments, may cancel their current Pass and start a new monthly EZpay commitment under the new Membership Program. Penalties and/or refunds do not apply.
  • Pass holders who purchased their pass with a one-time payment at full price prior to Oct. 28, 2017 will be credited for the remaining months before their pass expires. For example, if they paid full price for a Pass in July 2017, they will be credited for the remaining unused months of March, April, May and June 2018.
  • Pass holders who purchased their pass with a one-time payment at full price after Oct. 28, 2017 will be credited the entire value of their pass toward the purchase of a new Membership.

I joined the Membership Program during the introductory rate offer. Can I get the two single-ride Quick Queues and free digital photo download summer rewards?

No.  The single-ride Quick Queues and digital photo download are only available to Members that join between April 9 and April 30, 2018.  Members that joined during the introductory offer received a discounted rate for their Membership.  

How do I access my two single-ride Quick Queues and free digital photo download summer rewards?

The free products can be accessed June 1 – August 30, 2018 at the self-serve kiosks located at the park (Zone B).

What is a single-ride Quick Queue?

The single-ride Quick Queue gives you one time priority access on one of the following rides:  Alpengeist®, Apollo’s Chariot®, Escape from Pompeii®, Griffon®, Le Scoot, Loch Ness Monster, Mäch Tower, Roman Rapids or Verbolten®. The Quick Queues may be used on the date printed between June 1 – August 30, 2018 excluding July 3-4, 2018.

Where can I access my free digital photo download?

The free digital photo download can be used at any photo location excluding Antique Photos.  Free digital photo download  is valid on the date printed between June 1 – August 30, 2018.

When can I use my two single-ride Quick Queues and receive my free digital photo download rewards?

You can access and use your free products on the date you print them between June 1- August 30, 2018.  However, the Quick Queues cannot be used on July 3 - 4, 2018.
